Karen continues to provide Office Management services to Brown Harris.
Just to let you know she’s not sitting back in her easy chair; here’s just a sample of her many routine duties: Her overall responsibility is to ensure the office is running smoothly. She maintains the office records and makes sure all personal files are up to date and secure. She maintains the office budget and records all expenses, payroll, taxes, benefits and insurance as well as the various state licenses. Karen is Brown Harris's number one estate administrator. Her favorite duties include making sure each clients's account maintains an accurate cost basis and that the required minimum distributions are satisfied for clients who have reached 70 1/2. She and her husband, Ron, live in Culpeper. Karen loves decorating her home and enjoys spending time with her grandchild.
Executive Assistant/Insurance Specialist:
Joanie Jones
Joanie Jones is a long time resident of Culpeper and has been Gillette’s assistant since 2001. Joanie obtained her insurance license in 2008 and stays quite busy with Life and Long term care policies along with her other duties at Brown Harris. Joanie is a great asset to our company, her customer service and million dollar smile make our clients feel “right at home” on every visit.
Joanie loves family and friend time and she truly enjoys shopping and motorcycle time with her husband David.
Executive Assistant
Maureen McNemar
Maureen joined the Brown Harris Wealth Management Team on March 30th, 2009. She has an extensive background in computers including software installation, training, troubleshooting, marketing and customer service. Maureen moved to Culpeper in 1971 with her family from Long Island, New York after her father retired from the Queens City Fire Department. A 1976 CCHS graduate, she and Jim have been married for 32 years and they have 4 children and a registered companion AKC German Shepherd, “Heidi Haus Juris”.
After living in Morgantown, WV for 12 years the family moved back to Culpeper in 1993. She volunteers countless hours to the public schools and her church. She loves the changes of the seasons, family & friends, holidays, cooking, walking, reading, golf, tennis, racquetball, any music genre and the WVU Mountaineers.
Director of First Impressions:
Jean Huff
Jean has been with the Brown Harris family now since 2006 acting as their Director of First Impressions “DOFI.” Her duties range from assisting anyone who calls upon her whether it be the brokers in the office, their assistants or clients. Jean helps with the marketing mailouts, faxing, keeping client files and appointment schedules updated as well as greeting all of the Brown Harris clients.
Jean enjoys several sports activities, but ran out of time for the kayaking venture this year due to building a home in Madison County and getting married. Jean continues to sing with the Hazel River Trio and is in the process of working on the Hazel River Trio CD along with her Relay for Life events. Stay tuned, life is never boring in her world!
Marketing Associate:
Michelle Brown
Michelle graduated from Radford University with a B.S. in Marketing and married her high school classmate, Todd Brown. They have two children and Michelle spends a great deal of her time involved with their activities. She is also helping Todd with their non-profit foundation, “Carol Anne’s Mission for Bipolar Disorder Awareness,” established due to the untimely passing of their oldest daughter due to this illness. Michelle likes to travel, play tennis, swim and watch her kids sporting events!
